Concert reviews of performances by American conductor William Buhidar reflect his solid reputation among critics and audiences alike. His work has been presented on broadcasts of National Public Radio’s “Performance Today”. Mr. Buhidar has conducted a wide spectrum of music that has included symphonic and chamber orchestra concerts, complete dramatic opera and ballet productions, choral programs, and a wide variety of “pops” concerts. He has been a participant through competitive audition in the Eastman School of Music Summer Conducting Institute which resulted in a guest conducting appearance with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally, he is an active Clinician/Consultant for youth orchestras and ensembles.

Lexington Annual 4th of July Flight Deck Concerts ( Music Director); The Mozart Madness Players (Music Director); The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (Guest Conductor); The New Palais Royale Orchestra (Guest Conductor); The North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (Guest Conductor); The Lima Symphony (Ohio) (Guest Conductor); The Corpus Christi Chamber Orchestra (Guest Conductor); The American Center for Puccini Studies (Guest Conductor); The South Florida Opera Company (Guest Conductor); The Society of Classical Arts in West Palm Beach (Guest Conductor); The Corpus Christi Concert Ballet Orchestra (Guest Conductor); The RGV International Music Festival (Guest Conductor); The RGV Chorale (Guest Conductor).

William Buhidar began his career as a violinist earning a Master of Music Degree in Performance and an invitation to become a member of The Chancellor’s List. He is a member of the prestigious international organizations Phi Kappa Phi and The Golden Key Society, recognizing the quality of his graduate work. His conducting studies include becoming a conducting protégé of Maestro Cornelius Eberhardt, President Emeritus of the Munich Hochschule für Musik, former Principal Guest Conductor of the Munich Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. He has also mentored under Neil Varon of the Eastman School of Music, a former student of Leonard Bernstein and Herbert von Karajan.

Mr. Buhidar has also appeared on “pops” programs with such artists as country music legend Jerry Jeff Walker and the late comedienne Phyllis Diller.

William Buhidar is currently Assistant Dean for Fine and Performing Arts at South Texas College.
